Cashmere goats bred for size and quality fiber

Stoneycrest Farm is situated on Paddy Mountain which is part of the Shenandoah mountain range in Virginia. We are located in the tiny community of Star Tannery which is about 100 miles west of Washington, D.C. and very close to the West Virginia border.

We have been raising Cashmere goats since 1994 and presently maintain a heard of about 40 animals. We obtained our first herd sire, Beethoven, from Lydia Ratcliff who was one of the people who originally imported the goats from Australia. Our initial herd consisted of Australian Lismore stock and we have continued to breed with Lismore blood lines. We have been members of the Eastern Cashmere Association since 1992.

We have taken our goats to the Eastern Cashmere Association Goat Show in Richmond, Virginia for ten years and have won numerous prizes with our animals.
